Discover the diversity of the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, and immerse yourself in local culture with a rickshaw tour through the lively Old Quarter. Then, venture out of the city center and explore the harmoniously constructed tomb complex and historic pagodas in Duong Lam Village. This is followed by a boat cruise on Halong Bay, after which you’ll learn more about the rich heritage of the former Nguyen Dynasty in Hue. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An and experience the exciting city of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City).

Itinerary

Day 1 > Hanoi Arrival (M)

Arrive at Noibai International Airport, where you will be met by your English-speaking tour guide and accompanied to the transfer to Hanoi.

Check-in: from 2:00 PM

First discovery tour of Hanoi with a visit to the Jade Mountain Temple on the Lake of the Returned Sword, rickshaw ride through the Old Town, which gives you an insight into the everyday life of the Hanoians in a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys (including lunch).

The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Departure to visit the ancient village of Duong Lam, 65 km from Hanoi.

The village is known as the hometown of two Vietnamese kings and is almost 1,200 years old. There are several 400-year-old houses here, built with laterite bricks. Enjoy the unique experience of strolling through the ancient alleys lined with houses.

A short bike ride takes you through the rice fields to the “Mia” Pagoda and the “Nguyen” royal tomb.

Afterwards, return to Hanoi and visit the Ethnological Museum. Built in 1998, the museum now displays exhibits reflecting Vietnamese culture and typical aspects of everyday life among all 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll travel by bus to Halong Bay. There, you’ll take an impressive boat ride to your junk, which will then take you through the bizarre limestone cliffs.

In the afternoon you will visit some of the numerous caves and grottos in the bay.

Today you will stay overnight on the junk, including lunch and dinner with various seafood on board.

Light breakfast on board in the morning (bread, butter or cake, tea, coffee, etc.).

Today, you’ll take a short rowboat ride through a beautiful grotto and see some smaller islands and limestone cliffs. Brunch is included.

Return to Halong port and bus ride to Hanoi.

Visit the Temple of Literature, often referred to as Vietnam’s first university and built in 1070.

In the evening you will visit the Water Puppet Show, a world-famous performance in Vietnam.

Transfer to the airport and flight from Hanoi to Hue.
Departure for a visit to the Imperial Citadel, the tomb of Tu Duc, and the Dong Ba Market.

After breakfast, you’ll continue your tour of Phnom Penh. Your itinerary includes visits to the National Museum and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.

In the afternoon, you will travel by bus to Siem Reap, where you will also spend the night (bus journey approx. 5 – 6 hours)

In the morning, the journey to My Son (approximately 40 km from Hoi An) begins. This temple complex is idyllically situated in a valley. Here, you can visit more than 70 buildings in varying states of preservation from all eras of the Champa Empire. Enjoy an interesting Cham dance show (which only takes place in the morning).

Return to Hoian including lunch.

The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

Transfer to Danang Airport. Flight from Danang to Saigon.

City tour with visits to the City Hall (from the outside), the Grand Theatre, the historic Post Office and Benthanh Market.

In the afternoon you will visit the Thien Hau Pagoda and China Town.

Trip to the Mekong Delta.

In Vinh Long, you will take a boat trip through an area of ​​magnificent, green vegetation of the Mekong Delta to a large fruit tree plantation where you can enjoy delicious tropical fruits.

Continue by bus to Can Tho and overnight stay in Can Tho.

Today, you’ll first take a boat trip to discover the beautiful nature and peaceful life in the Mekong River Delta. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Cai Rang floating market.

Floating markets are among the Mekong Delta’s most special highlights. They are usually wholesale markets where fruit, vegetables, and local produce are sold to wholesalers. The goods are delivered directly from the boats; vendors hang the available wares on a high pole in their boats, making it possible to see what’s on offer from afar.

Return to Saigon and afternoon at leisure.

Free time until transfer to the airport for your return or onward journey.
